What is Hello Kitty holding?

I received these two notebooks yesterday...they were from Korea...hehe...yay! More stuff to add to the Hello Kitty Collection. :) The bigger notebook is really pretty cause its all pink...and I love the traditional Korean dress that Hello Kitty's wearing...although I can't seem to figure out what's in her hands...my first thought was a carrot...but it looks like a deformed carrot...and why would she pose with a carrot? Then I thought it looked like some sort of ginseng...cause of the roots...and then the more I looked at it...it sorta resembled some kinda voodoo doll....eek.

Hmm....does anyone have a clue what it might be? Hehe...Mel...would you have a better idea? since you've just spent quite some time in Korea :)

This is the smaller notebook....aww...so sweet right? Check out Daniel's hair...hehe...;)

Thank you Dear Daniel....for the notebooks and for Kacsa too....:D

Ahh!
I got no more sisters!
Kak Arlin went back to Holland.
And I'm all alone!
And Nene's not here!
She's gone back to Sweden.
I'm the only one here!
I want to see them again!
Argh!
So sad!

Miniskirts!

Yeah I remember this one evening when we were going out to East Coast to eat and we all decided we'd wear miniskirts. Since I have the pics, I might as well blog about it. So here we are at home, posing in our miniskirts.

I love this pic below! I actually have it on my desktop now.

Here's Ma getting ready before we leave.

And then we were at East Coast and by then we were getting worried because Ba's leg was hurting a lot and he had trouble walking. So we ate quickly and Ba went back to the car to rest while us three sisters decided to buy some buah berangan and ice-cream and walk around the beach.

Arnee posing in front of some sandcastles. We were really tempted to destroy them. Muahaha. We didn't of course.

And here we are in front of some castle. I look like a slob with ice-cream! And I have to declare that Arnee and I are the worst and slobbiest ice-cream eaters I know. :)

And here I am with Arlin, who's posing all jambu. Too bad the pic is so far away. Can't see so good.

When we got back to the car, we all persuaded Ba to go to the hospital. So off we went to Singapore General Hospital's A&E Department. Ba was taken in and given some insulin shots and while he was resting, he called us to come in and we got to meet his doctor. And damn...if I ever get sick, I definitely know who I want treating me!! Doctor Alex William Hoyes-Cock, if you ever happen to read this, do leave us a message. We would LOVE to get in touch with you and thank you PERSONALLY for taking care of our Ba. Sigh...we should have taken a pic of Doctor Alex. Now I'll never look at SGH's A&E the same way again...;) It almost makes you wish you were sick so Doctor Alex can take care of you...Sigh....

Urm...Strawberry Cucur?!?

I found this weird cucur (malay fritters) mix at the supermarket some time ago and I have absolutely no idea why I got it. No...wait... actually I do know why I got it...cause the packaging was pink. And it said something for kids :p Anyway I saw it today when I was in the kitchen and I was really curious so I decided to make it after all...

Eh...this was the strawberry flavoured flour mix...with strawberry chips.

All I had to do was add water to the flour mix...and I got this scary bright pink batter...

And this was the finished product...after it was fried.

Hmm....the batter actually smelled real good. And the strawberry cucur actually didn't taste THAT bad. It was like eating fruitella candy. Hehe....Ma took a bite and absolutely refused to have anymore...even Ba was wary about trying one....and I'll have to admit it was too weird even for me. And no....I don't think i'll ever buy that crap again. :D

Parkway Parade

Yes I am still going to write about my trip to Singapore cause hey, it's just been less than a week since I left and we didn't blog at all when I was home so we might be writing about this a little longer. But of course we won't still be talking about this months and months later, because Insyallah, I might be able to actually go home again then! Whee!

So yeah, Arlin and I went to Parkway Parade and changed some money and then we had a great time SHOPPING! It's been so long since I've been there so it was really fun. Oh and we said hi to Aunty Rumini too at Oleh-oleh. A few days before that I'd just been to Oleh-oleh to say hi to Aunty Rose. And we bought tons of Malay kuih. I really love the kuih bakar there. Best ever!

Arnee had bowling training at the Chinese Swimming Club which was nearby so she came and joined us when she was done and then we sat around at Pacific Coffee I think and enjoyed some coffee and took pics!

Afterwards Ma came and joined us and we went to eat at hmm..let's see if I remember this...Thai Express? Siam Kitchen? Something that sounds like that. The food was actually not bad at all. I had kuey teow goreng and I thought it was simply delicious. We all really loved the softshell crab there. The only downer was that the tomyam soup was a little sweet and the fried chicken was just bones! But otherwise it wasn't too bad at all.

Miss you Ma and Ar. And Ba too! Hugs to everyone.

Hey people!
Now I'm gonna blog about Takoyaki and Edamame!
Nene, Kak Arlin and me made takoyaki that day.
Actually I didn't really do anything. Lol!
I only ate them.
AHAHAHA! ok. lame.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takoyaki there's more information about takoyaki on Wikipedia.
And here are some pictures...

The pan. This is the special takoyaki pan which Kak Arlin bought

from the Japanese store.

The takoyaki flour that we used.

Kak Arlin and Nene making the takoyaki balls.

The takoyaki balls complete with bonito flakes and everything.

This was especially decorated by ME! yum.

Eating the takoyaki. So delicious.

This is the edamame.

This was from a website about edamame.

"Edamame is a green vegetable more commonly known as a soybean, harvested at the peak of ripening right before it reaches the "hardening" time. The word Edamame means "Beans on Branches," and it grows in clusters on bushy branches.

As a snack, the pods are lightly boiled in salted water, and then the seeds are squeezed directly from the pods into the mouth with the fingers." (and that's really the most fun part about eating it :D)

I love takoyaki. You should try it. :D

Our favourite song for the moment! Sing along people!

Big Girls Don't Cry - Fergie

Da Da Da Da
The smell of your skin lingers on me now
You're probably on your flight back to your hometown
I need some shelter of my own protection baby
Be with myself in center, clarity, peace, serenity

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We got some straightening out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've gotta get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry,Don't cry,Don't cry

The path that I'm walking, I must go alone
I must take the baby steps til I'm full grown, fullgrown
Fairy tales don't always have a happy ending do they
And I forseek the dark ahead if I stay

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We got some straightening out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've gotta get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry

Like a little school mate in the school yard
We'll play jacks and uno cards
I'll be your best friend and you'll be mine Valentine
Yes you can hold my hand if you want to 'cause I wanna hold yours too
We'll be playmates and lovers and share our secretworlds
But it's time for me to go home
It's getting late, dark outsideI need to be with myself in center, clarity, peace, serenity

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We got some straightening out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses theirblanket
But I've gotta get a move on with my lifeIt's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry,Don't cry,Don't cry
La Da Da Da Da Da

Crazy Girls - Bethany Joy Lenz

The three of us have been listening to this song a whole lot....although we still prefer the version done by Mia Rose instead of the original one by Bethany Joy Lenz. Too bad Mia's video is so short! Hehe we even asked Ba earlier if he could play it for us....showed him Mia's video on youtube. :D Ma listened to the song a bit as well...but she said it sounded awful... macam out of tune. Typical Ma....

Hallo!
I'm gonna blog about the Racial Harmony day that was about 2 weeks ago.
Many things happened on that day.
There were many events and activities planned for the whole school.
At first I went to school with normal clothes then I changed into Kak Arlin's baju kebaya.
And of course I looked very pretty! hah! thick-skinned! Lol! There was this huge bazaar.
In the school courtyard. There were all kinds of food. Argh!! There were many traditional games too. That was all organised by the JSLs. And here are some pictures..

Gloria, Dinie, me and Jaslene

Me and Dinie

Mrs Kua(my teacher), Jaslene, Me and Sheryl

And the Campus Superstar girl. I think her name is Hui Xian or something like that.

Sorry about the picture. The battery was low. Ok bye.

Nota Classica 2007

Since Nene mentioned about Arnee's concert...I remembered the video I took of her that day and I looked through all the files in my phone and I actually found it! Its not very clear...but its way better than the video Nene took right? :p But i'm lazy to upload it now...cause the stupid connection is really really slow right now so i'll do that another time :)

The concert venue.

A blurry picture of Arnee on the piano. (And yes Nene took this one).

I'm home!

Hi girls! Yep I made it safely home as you girls know by now. Only Jonas had to work on the day I came back so I had to lug around all my luggage home from Copenhagen to Kävlinge by myself. I wanted to cry! Well actually I did (embarrassingly), but I think it's because I was extremely jet-lagged and tired and pmsy and worst of all, I missed you girls and Ma and Ba terribly. And the worst thing was that not a single person helped me all the way home. All these Swedish people saw me...this Asian girl, all by herself, pulling around one huge suitcase which was at least 35 kg and another which was around 10 kg and a huge bag which weighed around 5 kg maybe. Damn, that's practically my weight when combined. No wonder my whole body's aching right now.

And guess what I'm thinking about? Yep food!!! I miss all the food we had at home. Wish I'd eaten more but when I was back home it felt like not such a big deal. Nevermind I'll be home again soon. I can't bear being away from everyone at home. And then we can eat like pigs! Whee!

I found these pics in my e-mail. Remember girls? When Arnee had her piano recital? What was it called now. Nota Classica. Arnee played so well then and looked so beautiful. We were so proud of her!

Here is Arnee looking so pretty in the top we bought in Sweden and Arlin's skirt! Yes I can't believe we can share clothes with her already!

And here she is again. Hehe standing like a flamingo! Ooh and I love your rebonded hair girl!

And after the recital, we went to eat at Bilal Restaurant with the rest of the family. The food there was kinda pricey I thought at first but we ordered loads and loads and it tasted really good! It was so long since I had rice with tons of dishes like hotplate beancurd with egg and stuff, fried sambal fish, sotong ball, satay and a bunch of other stuff I don't remember.

And here are the pretty girls at our table. :)

And here are the rest of the family. Ma's siblings.

Thank you Cik Piee! It was his treat! And his birthday too! Happy Belated Birthday Cik Piee.

Damn I miss everyone! Insyallah I will be home soon. And Ba don't forget to take your medicine! And Ma too! And Arnee don't forget to practice your piano playing. And Arlin I bet I'll see you soon!

Lots of love, love and love to everyone.

Love,

Nene

Nene! I miss you!
I'm now listening to 'all about you'.
Can you come back here?
So all three of us can be the sretsis again!
When i went back home today, I kept thinking you were there.
I even cried in school. In front of my friends. Then I tried to forget, but I couldn't!
But at least there's still Kak Arlin.
Cause if she's not here then I'll really be lonely.
Argh!
Can you come live here again?
Cause now I have to keep waiting for you. I don't want to wait another 3 years!
Well anyway, this picture is to remind you of the neoprintss we took together at Century Square. I miss you! And so does Kak Arlin.

love you lots!
