Get well soon Ba!

Yes our Baba's in the hospital. That's why nene's still in SG and we're still not writing. We're all feeling worried and hope Ba will get well really really soon. We love you very very much Ba.

Lots of love, hugs and kisses from your daughters.

TheSretsis Reunite!

We are taking a break from blogging...cause we are FINALLY together again and want to spend every single second with each other. Besides, we feel that there is no need for us to update each other on our lives when we're living together under the same roof.

But we'll be back soon enough. To all the regulars....do check back later.... btw Hi Mel! :)

With lots of love,

Renee, Arlin & Arnee

Destination Singapore

Yep I'm here!! Back home!! In good old Singapore. When I first arrived at the airport and was looking out the airplane window, I couldn't help but think of that National Day song. The one that goes like.."This is home...surely...as my senses tell me...this is where I won't be alone...for this is where I know it's homeeeeeeeeeeeee....."

Haha yeah corny right...but you try not going home for 3 whole years..I bet you'll have all these corny National Day songs in your head as well..like Stand up for Singapore! and worse...There are five stars arising out of the stormy sea...

Anyways I can't avoid talk of National Day seeing how it's only a month away and all the flags are up and roads are closed for national day rehearsals and all kinds of preparations are underway already. Too bad I won't be here. Going back to Sweden soon...how time flies wayyy too fast. I haven't even met everyone here!

Well the most important thing is that I've finally been able to spend time with Ma, Ba and Arnee and we've had tons to do cause Arnee's been really busy with bowling tournaments and piano exams and all kinds of classes and her PSLE's coming up soon too so we're trying to study while I'm here as well.

Here I am outside of the room where Arnee's having her piano lesson. I'm trying real hard to listen to her piano playing.
Ma and Cik Ti are also waiting here.
That's Ar right in front playing on the upright piano and Ian, her piano teacher's on the left and Jing Han, the other student's on the right. Ian's been teaching them piano for like 6 years or so and unfortunately he thinks that it's time for the girls to start having private individual piano lessons, so Ar's probley getting a new piano teacher soon...
A few days ago...last Friday to be exact, Arnee had to sit for her piano practical exam. We arrived just in time and Ar had been sick all day and the day before so it was really stressful for her. She said she made lots of mistakes. I hope she passes and does well anyway! Insyallah!
Arlin when you coming home leh? I'm finally here you know. And will be leaving soon...:(
Lovies

Amsterdam Arena

We went to some huge electronics store last week to get some stuff...and it was real close to the Amsterdam Arena....yup the stadium of AJAX! I think it looks amazing....really impressive especially in comparison to the stadiums back home.

From afar.

I stopped to take plenty of pics....oh by the way...Ben....these ones are ESPECIALLY for youu! :D

Up Close.

One of the entrances.

Outside the fanshop and museum.

Unfortunately it was closed...Sorry Ben!

Apparently there was a dance/party thing going on and everyone was dressed in white.

Oh yeah the Heineken Music Hall was also around the same area...basically a lot of concerts and stuff take place there.

FIFTEEN AMSTERDAM!

Hiya Sisters!

Guess where we went for dinner last night???....
Yup.......JAMIE OLIVER'S RESTAURANT!!!!!!! :))))

Okay I don't think I need to include a link to wikipedia cause i'm pretty sure everyone knows who Jamie Oliver is! Hehehe...anyway we finally managed to get reservations at the place and the whole day I was dead excited cause I've always wanted to go there! I've been watching Jamie since The Naked Chef...which was like...in 1999 I think....and I've seen countless reruns of Oliver's Twist and almost all his other proggys as well....so well....yeah...that was really great..finally going to one of his restaurants!

Hehe that's me walking towards 'Fifteen'. It was at this place called Pakhuis Amsterdam I think.

About the restaurant...unfortunately its in Dutch. Psh.

The food was alright...I had some really yummy risotto with mushrooms.....and it tasted just like how I imagined it would...all those times when I saw him making it on telly!! :))

The Tasting Menu

Me having dinner!

You can read up more about the restaurants and stuff here.. http://www.fifteen.net/Pages/default.aspx

Hmm...up next...Gordon Ramsay?? heheheh :p

SHOES

I came across an article today which I thought was pretty interesting..so i'm placing it on the blog for future reference and also for sharing with you girls! :)

Its basically what you should look for in a shoe...although one thing strange though...they used an Aldo shoe for the picture...and those have always been killer heels!

Hallo again! I forgot to blog about yesterday. Yesterday we ate ayam penyek at Marine Parade Central.

It was so delicious. And the sambal was super HOT! I think Kak Arlin would have loved it. I cried after eating it cause it was sooooooo spicy. Ouch.

Really very nice. And I especially loved the chicken. Duhh! Cause there was fish as well. But I liked the chicken more. We also took some pictures of the food. Cause it was delicious. Of course.

Here is the ayam penyet. The original one. Especially delicious. yum.

The cendol. I didn't like it. Thought it was gross. Nene and ma thought i was stupid. Lol.

Happy Soda! This think is coool. Its like some syrup thinggy mixed with condensed milk. But with gas. I liked it! But kinda disgusting. But interesting.

I think this one was the ikan penyet or something like that. It was quite okay lah.

Ma and Ba enjoying their food. Lol. Yumm.

Cik Ti was there too. Lol.

Oh that day we also went to VIVO city. I love that place man. It RAWKS. I bought this cool new jacket that looks like sports school one man. So damn nice. Okay. That's all for now. Have to go continue doing homework. Darn.

Still scared for tournament. This Wednesday.

Wednesday- 04072007.1300 hrs. Chevrons.

SINGLES.

Really hope i do well. Looking forward to it.

Food!
Oops I was supposed to continue this post a few days ago. But oh well better late than never. So first up I'm gonna blog about the food Arlin and I had together in Holland. We went to the supermarket there and found this cake/pastry thingy called Tompouce and it looked so pink and interesting that Arlin bought it so we could try it. Here's what it looks like:

And it's actually two layers of wafers with lots and lots of whipped cream in between and topped with pink frosting. Here we are trying Dutch Tompouce. Oh turns out there's a Swedish version called Napoleonbakelse. And in French it's called Mille-feuille. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tompouce)

Here's us trying it out. Hmm..wonder if it'll taste nice...

Me: So what do you think Ar?
Arlin: Ehh it's a bit too sweet for me. And all this cream, muak!

I thought the Tompouce wafer tasted like Nestum! And I think we were thinking about how Kak Hanies could eat up loads of cream and how she would love this Tompouce thingy.

Besides that Arlin also got me some croquettes to try. And these smaller croquettes called bitterballs. And they were really really yummy. Deep fried and crunchy on the outside and soft and gooey and smooth on the inside. Perfect! Although my favourite has to be the cheese souffle. Same thing except you have cheese oozing out inside. Mmmm. Me want more!

That's all for now. Up next...Destination Singapore!
