Schiphol Airport

Yay! Nene was actually here last week!! Hehe...still can't believe you were in Holland tau...macam surreal eh? Anyway since I got to the airport real early to pick her up that day....I decided to walk around and explore a little....cause I've actually never ever done that before! Anyway there was a Panorama Terrace which was recommended so I went there and it was really fun! I think I spent over an hour just walking around the area. The view was really lovely...and I can't believe I actually enjoyed looking at all the aircrafts and stuff.

There were plenty of KLM planes of course!

Martinair and Air Astana.

BMI, something I dont know..British Airways and Czech Airlines.

Iran Air, Georgian Airlines and VLM.

I took quite a few pics when I was there but I'm not gonna include them all cause there's always pic overload on the blog :p Anyway after the panorama terrace I walked around the shopping plaza of course...heheh...and that was just as fun! And I had my eyes set on some stuff so yup..the first thing I did after Nene got here was to drag her to the store so I could get it :D

How true. :))

Transit in The Netherlands

Last Tuesday I flew from Copenhagen to Holland where I was on transit for 10 whole hours! Thank goodness Arlin's there and I could leave the airport so we met up for a few hours and she showed me around her kampong.

This was my first time there and although I didn't have too much time, I felt like I did get to see quite a lot, thanks to Arlin.
So first she picked me up at Schiphol Airport and then we took the train into the city. I had to take a picture of one of the trains cause I thought it was cool that they had double-decker trains there cause we don't have those in Sweden.
When we reached the city Arlin initially wanted to take me on one of these cruise thingies but we decided we'd rather walk around instead.
We walked along this row of shops that had lotsa touristy things. I noticed that the buildings in Amsterdam, although similar to those in Sweden were much narrower and there were so much more people too!
And I made friends with this Dutch girl. :)

Shopping centre!
Posing in Dam Square in front of Koninklijk Huis, the Royal Palace
Me posing in front of horse carriages. I was really excited when I saw a horse carriage and wanted to ride in one until we came really near them. The horsies were so smelly!
Ohh then we went into one of the many little side streets where they had coffee shops! That was also smelly! I thought it was fascinating to see so many totally different shops coexisting right beside each other in Amsterdam. Reminds me a bit of Singapore.
I finally got to try these fries that Arlin has been raving about for years! I scalded my tongue cause I tried to gobble these down too fast! Really yummy!
And then we walked around so much that our feet started aching a whole lot. Damn these uneven European sidewalks! So we sat down and Arlin treated me to a smoothie. Mmmm...
Ohh another major mode of transport was the tram. And here they are. We took the number 2 to ehh...Nieuw Sloten...where Arlin's staying.
Me posing on the tram. So tak malu and jakun eh?
And then when my 10 hours were up we went back to the airport where I could continue on the next part of my journey. But before that, more posing of course. This one's for the paparazzi. Hehe.
Ohh next entry I'll have to write about all the other foodstuff we had while I was there. Till then...
Love you Ma! Love you Ba! And love you both Ars! And love you Jonas and love you Smelly Aslan!

SHREK DE DERDE!

I went to watch Shrek 3 yesterday! Yay!! Finally!...I've really been wanting to see that. I watched it at this cinema called Pathe I think.

Anyway the movie was really good. Really funny as well...the only weird thing initially was seeing the dutch subtitles but I forgot about them after awhile...oh and its free seating here too. Quite different from home. Hehe...don't think we can practise that in Singapore cause everyone will want to 'chope' seats :p

Ohh...I got some popcorn and stuff before the movie...and of course I wanted the kinder combo (kids combo :D )...hehe cause you get a verrassing!!! (surprise) Anyway..it was...eh...quite a verrassing...:p

This was the box I got.

This was the nice fruity drink which came with the set..look its Shrek too! :D

And this was......the verrassing!

Heheh...and that's me and my surprise :p

..You can't lose me
Bet your life
I am here, and I will always be
Just a wish away
Wherever you go
No matter how far
My love is where you are

Bart's Birthday Party.

I was invited to Bart's birthday party last weekend so I went. The party was at Bart's place which was somewhere around De Pijp area. It was my first time there and Syed showed me some old buildings around the area and told me a bit about the history and stuff. The party itself was alright I guess. I met quite a few people there. Mostly Bart and Syed's friends...they were really friendly...and I did have fun :) Syed did the cooking. He made briyani and stuff which looked really yummy but I actually didn't try it cause I didn't have any appetite then. Tsk!

The birthday cake...I did have some of it...was really sweet and yummy. The pink stuff is marzipan I think..

That's Pars, Me and Syed. Haha and we're all in pink too! That seemed to be the party theme :)

That's Bart the birthday boy. He turned 38. Hehe his hair is really long now. The last time I saw him was sometime last year in Singapore and his hair was so different then!

Bart making his birthday wish. :)

That's Lila..Bart's doggie...hehe she was really dressed for the party!

That's me in the kitchen with one of Syed's good friend. She was really nice. Ohh we were talking about skincare at one point and she said that to prevent breakouts..you should stay away from nuts and milk?! Hm...I dont know how true that is...but I love milk! Hehe maybe you girls can try and tell me if it works eh? Hm...or maybe that's your secret Nene...for being lactose intolerant and stuff. Damn...

Haha...that's me somewhere in between...and Pars and Gerald singing a duet...that was really funny..Gerald is the guy in the white shirt...Syed said he looks like Jay Z...hehe I thought he was more like that Chef on Ready Steady Cook! Ainsley something...Anyway I think they were singing along to Beyonce there :p Hehe...it was that karaoke game thing on the playstation. I want one of those...heheh I think we should get one sisters...then we can all sing..and you even get a score for it :D

That's me again with Bart's friend..I think he was from Romania or Estonia? And I forgot his name :p
Alrighty..i'll stop here for now...too many pics liao.

Hello!! Guess what?

I bought a new keyboard! Yay! So now I'll be blogging quite a lot. Cause I don't have
to use that lame on-screen keyboard thing. That really hurt my fingers. Anyway, I bought this keyboard from Courts on Saturday with Ma and Ba. Then after that we went bowling. But I was just practising. We went with Cik Nani and Cik Lin.
And they bowl really pro!
Cik Nani tried to teach me how to hook the ball. (Hooking means spinning the ball from the target(arrow) to the pocket(between 1st pin to 3rd pin.)
But I couldn't do it. I don't have a strong wrist like Gloria, my friend, does.

She's really really good. But she goes training on her own like almost everyday. And she has a personal coach. So yeah. But I can call Cik Nani as my 'personal coach'. At least I have someone to teach me stuff. My friends get training at Sports School. And I really want that. Not that type of 'copy what my friends do thing'. I really wanted to go train there. But I didn't have the chance to. Cause I'm not that good. But I really should be after training for 3 years. Haha! So thick-skinned.

I did cry a lot. Cause of the Sports School thing. But its okay.

After practising with Cik Nani and Cik Lin, we went for dinner at this place. I'm not quite sure where it was. But the food wasn't really nice. And I didn't really like the place. I wanted to order fish and chips but they said it was cooked Indian style. And that the picture was fake! ARGH! But nevermind. So I ate rice with this fried squid thing. Quite delicious.Ohh, and Ba bowled as well! But of course, i beat him! All 3 games! Hah! I'm soo good! Thick-skinned! Lol! I was so angry with him cause he kept scolding me when I missed a shot. But he missed so many and I tried to tell him where to stand and all like how my school coach taught my left-handed friend who was a hooker just like ba to. But NO!! He didn't want to listen to a 12 year old girl! Hmph! His shots didn't get any better.
Oh and there was one game where my score and Cik Nani's score was the same! High-5!

But Cik Lin won for all 10 games. I think. But she's really good! And after 10 games, non-stop, my hand was aching like crazy yesterday when I woke up. And today I have bowling again! But I'm happy. Cause I really love this sport. YAY!

Teachers' Outing

A few days ago I went to Wanås Park with the other teachers for our annual excursion. I've never been to nor heard of Wanås before so I didn't really know what to expect. It's a park and there's a castle nearby and they have all kinds of art exhibitions and sculptures all around. It was actually really interesting and I enjoyed myself. There's more information available here: http://www.wanas.se/index.htm

This is some kinda sculpture in the woods. I think it was called "Mussla" or clam in English. A few of us got really excited and decided to see if we could climb on top of it of course. That's me in the corner with Veronica (who teaches German) helping another teacher to get up.

Atop the clam thingy.

This is another exhibition. And to be honest I didn't really get it at all. It's made of these glass blocks filled with dried leaves and stuff. Hmm...
Me, Sabine (German teacher) and Laurent (French) are discussing the significance of the leaves or something here.

Here we're standing behind this glass thingy which was placed right beside a pond. It's called "Two Different Anamorphic Surfaces" by Dan Graham.

This is a beautiful sculpture called "Gorgeous woman in blue resting on reclining chair". Haha nolah it was me fooling around and trying out these seats that we found in the middle of the forest. I think the exhibition's called "Solarium" .

Me posing in the chair and some other teachers (Weishu - Chinese and Deidre - English) checking me out. And that chair wasn't comfortable at all.

Ohh this statue was really intriguing and kinda gross too. It's of this woman who is squatting and has her pants halfway down her legs and guess what? She was peeing! Seriously! I thought the other teachers were joking at first when they told me but it was true! She had water coming out from between her legs. I stood there for quite a bit with Sabine to try and figure out how they did that. We came to the conclusion that they must have put up a water pipe or something from her feet. Really weird. Who would come up with such an idea?

And here's a group photo. There were more of us but we were split up into many different groups.

After walking in the park we had a picnic which was really nice. We ate fresh strawberries and cold cuts and salmon pate with freshly baked bread and all kinds of other stuff. Really yummy.

CONTEST!

Okay I know I haven't blogged in awhile but that's cause of the camera. I've been having problems taking pictures but once I get some I'll update about my life.

Anyways I just came up with a brilliant plan. Right now our hit counter shows like 2600+ hits. And as we're 3 sisters, we wanna do something when we hit 3000 hits.

So the person who happens to be the 3000th visitor to our blog gets something from all 3 of us! Like a postcard or a little thing from all the 3 different places we're all at right now.

So if you happen to be the 3000th visitor, leave a message in the Chatbox or comment or write in the guestbook and tell us who you are!

Sisters, what do you think?

T O A S T E R

Sorry for the delay Nene....I know you were just as curious as I was about the toaster...well we did try it out about a week or so ago...but the results were rather disappointing...penipu betul! It looked so clear on the box right? I mean the bread was toasted alright...but the words weren't so clear...psh.

Ok look at how clear it looks on the box!

The first attempt.

Second attempt...slightly better eh?

Ah well...I still like the toaster anyway. Cantik. Especially the pink words :)

Hmm...but now i'm thinking...perhaps we should've just bought the Mickey Mouse toaster instead....haha or maybe I should really just go for a Hello Kitty one for myself! :D
