Transit in The Netherlands

Last Tuesday I flew from Copenhagen to Holland where I was on transit for 10 whole hours! Thank goodness Arlin's there and I could leave the airport so we met up for a few hours and she showed me around her kampong.

This was my first time there and although I didn't have too much time, I felt like I did get to see quite a lot, thanks to Arlin.
So first she picked me up at Schiphol Airport and then we took the train into the city. I had to take a picture of one of the trains cause I thought it was cool that they had double-decker trains there cause we don't have those in Sweden.
When we reached the city Arlin initially wanted to take me on one of these cruise thingies but we decided we'd rather walk around instead.
We walked along this row of shops that had lotsa touristy things. I noticed that the buildings in Amsterdam, although similar to those in Sweden were much narrower and there were so much more people too!
And I made friends with this Dutch girl. :)

Shopping centre!
Posing in Dam Square in front of Koninklijk Huis, the Royal Palace
Me posing in front of horse carriages. I was really excited when I saw a horse carriage and wanted to ride in one until we came really near them. The horsies were so smelly!
Ohh then we went into one of the many little side streets where they had coffee shops! That was also smelly! I thought it was fascinating to see so many totally different shops coexisting right beside each other in Amsterdam. Reminds me a bit of Singapore.
I finally got to try these fries that Arlin has been raving about for years! I scalded my tongue cause I tried to gobble these down too fast! Really yummy!
And then we walked around so much that our feet started aching a whole lot. Damn these uneven European sidewalks! So we sat down and Arlin treated me to a smoothie. Mmmm...
Ohh another major mode of transport was the tram. And here they are. We took the number 2 to ehh...Nieuw Sloten...where Arlin's staying.
Me posing on the tram. So tak malu and jakun eh?
And then when my 10 hours were up we went back to the airport where I could continue on the next part of my journey. But before that, more posing of course. This one's for the paparazzi. Hehe.
Ohh next entry I'll have to write about all the other foodstuff we had while I was there. Till then...
Love you Ma! Love you Ba! And love you both Ars! And love you Jonas and love you Smelly Aslan!
