Canal Cruise

The postcard that I put up the other day wasn't really a postcard. We went on this canal cruise and before you get on the boat, this woman snaps your picture and when the ride is over she displays your picture on this board and you can choose to buy the pic and that's what we did.

So the cruise was really interesting and there was a lot of information about the different landmarks and buildings in Amsterdam. The annoying thing was that we had to listen to everything in Dutch first, then German, French and finally English.

Here we are standing in line with our tickets. Kiki Nadine'e the name of our boat.

Some of the sights we saw on the cruise. There was a floating Chinese restaurant. No meaning kan pergi Holland nampak Chinese boat. The Botel thing is actually a boat hotel.

And here are some really cool cars we saw from the boat.

Here's us durin the tour. Arlin actually fell asleep cause she's been on this tour before so everything was like yeah yeah been there done that for her :p

But thanks for taking me on the tour Ar. I learnt a lot and saw a lot of really interesting stuff and places. Plus it was nice and warm on the boat, thank god.

Jägermeister

We were taking the tram to downtown Amsterdam the other day and then saw this

Yes it's a car with a block of ice and bottles of jagermeister frozen in the ice. Don't know how they got it there. And don't know why either. But it really looked interesting and we weren't the only ones who were jakun.

This post is going to be about the Fremantle Prison.
The prison was way way way freaky. I wasn't really scared when I went into the prisoners room but I got really really freaked out when I went into the hanging room.

The hanging room was where they hanged the prisoners. It was way freaky cause when I went into that room, I could feel like really really weird things. Way freaky. Like I had that uncomfortable feeling. I could feel something wrong. Grr! And there was like this weird smell. Like the smell of the prisoners blood after they were hanged. And there were blood stains too. I took pictures of them. Cool. Lol. Don't be grossed out. Hahah. And there was this window, in one of the chapel in the jail. Ok this is way freaky. There's like an image of someone on it. Its an image of a girl. It just suddenly appeared there. I'm gonna upload the picture of the window but you cannot see the girl cause you need to zoom in into one of the tiles. There's like white stuff on it. And there's the girl's face on it. Interesting. Hah. Don't get freaked! And there's a picture of the guide too.
The jail guide. My friend was going nuts over him. Lol. Ting tong. She thought he was cute. Ok larh :D

I took a lot of rubbish pictures. hahaha. "please keep me clean"
That's lame man. Hahah. I'll blog about day 2 tomorrow. I'm tired now.
Gonna go watch some tv :D

G'd Day!

Gd day mates.
I'm back from going out with my friends.
So I'm going to blog about my trip to Perth.
On the first day, we went for the canal cruise, to the Fremantle Prison and the weekend markets.
We went to the canal cruise first in Mandurah.
There were about 30 students on the boat. 2 teachers and 2 of the boat people.
Ok. It was very nice. The houses there were soooooo beautiful. And they're really really big.
So cool. The houses were like facing the canal. And we saw some people in the houses doing things.
Lol. Ok. There were many birds too. Lots of seagulls. Very annoying seagulls.
And some other birds. I'm not sure what they're called. But they're really noisy. Yepp.

Didn't really take pictures of the houses. What a waste. But anyway, they were seriously nice.
Toodles! I'm gonna blog about the Fremantle Prison next.

Buka Puasa With The Students

Okay this is late but hey I didn't have Internet for 3 weeks so I couldn't blog in ages. I'm going to spam blog now. :)
So a few weeks ago I arranged to buka puasa with my students at this Thai Restaurant called Ao Thai in town. All of them actually turned up amazingly. So there were 7 of them and they're all in grades 7-9 (Secondary 1-3) and we had a real nice time.
Here's (from left to right) Benjamin, Mustaqim, Ashraf and Nawal

And on the other side we have(also from left to right) Firdaus, her sister Hidayah and Amin

Blurry pic of Firdaus and Hidayah

Benjamin and Mustaqim posing

And me the Cikgu with all of them

Louisiana Museum of Modern Art

Today all the teachers had an excursion again and we went 'abroad' this time. We were in Elsinore in Denmark to go to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. And I had a really good time and saw a lot of very interesting art pieces.

First we took the bus to Helsingborg in Sweden. And then we took the ferry from Helsingborg to Helsingör (Elsinore, yes the same Elsinore in Hamlet :)) in Denmark.

And then we took the bus again to get to the museum and here's Hathairat and me all excited.

And the other teachers.

Here's the outside of the museum.

The leaves all gold and pretty.

Sculptures.

Me posing in front of sculpture.

My teacher colleagues and I

The view from the garden where they have the different sculptures

Architectural exhibit

And then we sat and had lunch at the museum's cafe which had an open fireplace. Mmm warm and cosy! This was what I ate

Too bad we couldn't take pics inside of the paintings and stuff. There were some really interesting exhibitions. One was of Lucian Freud's works, which involved a lot of naked men and women. Oh he's the grandson of Sigmund Freud by the way.

And then there was an architectural exhibition featuring Cecil Balmond and another exhibition involving Richard Avedon's photography. But my favourite has to be Tal R's more contemporary work cause everything was so colourful and yet he just used to same seven colours in all his paintings. Oh and I saw 2 paintings by Andy Warhol. And there was also a collection of Islamic Miniature Paintings from the David Collection. And that was really interesting too. All the miniature paintings were so packed with detail that it was like reading a story. And there were a few paintings from the 15th or 16th century featuring Prophet Muhammad and his companions. They didn't show the Prophet's face, covering it with white cloth but it was still weird to see. Some of the stuff were really beautiful.

You can read more about the museum here: http://www.louisiana.dk

And here's me and a colleague, Janos, who is from Hungary.

Hope you're having fun in Perth Ar!! And Arlin I'll see you soon! And Ma and Ba love you and miss you lots. Selamat Hari Raya everyone. And hello Mat Atas. :)

Lovies,

Nene

COLE HAAN NIKE AIR!!!

I saw Cole Haan ads pretty much everywhere around NY....and I tried so hard to resist....but on the last day...hehe about an hour before we left....I thought perhaps I really should just take a quick peek at the store....cause i've been so curious about the Nike Air technology ever since I read about it like a year or so ago! And i've even been to the tiny boutique they have at the Paragon in SG but that was really disappointing cause they had such a crap collection!

(Outside the store...and sorry I can't rotate the pic...blogger is a real pain! Ugh...)

Anyway we went to the store which was close to the hotel....I don't even know the name of the mall :p..hehe I think there were two floors...but I didn't see much...cause the shoes were on the first floor :D Anyway I decided to try two pairs of shoes....and I was soooo torn between getting practical or pretty ones...so I eh..ended up getting both. Besides my collection has been rather disappointing this year...and I did say I would work on it right? :)

I got one pair from the Dress Air collection...and the other pair was from the Casual air collection.

That's the Lelia Air Strap Sandals and i've worn them once now and they're the most comfy heels ever!

The Air Josey Ballet. I haven't worn these yet...hehe but I love them. Yay! I've finally found my perfect flats!

Wheee! Love my shoes!! dankje wel D. Szeretlek?

:D

Heelo!
I'm blogging about Hari Raya today.
Wait. Before anything, I'd like to wish all the muslim people a late Selamat Hari Raya.
Hee. Ok.
Hari Raya was fun. I ate a lot. And put on a lot of weight. Grr.
Fast for no reason. Hah.
Most of the pictures I took were of me.
Heehee. I felt beautiful on that day. Woots.

Ok. I'm gonna stop there. Blogger is sooo slow. I can't be bothered to upload the pictures. And I better go to bed now. I'm going to PERTH tomorrow! Can't wait. Although I've been there, I still wanna go there again. Cause its different. I'm going with the school this time. Hah! Can't wait. Hee! Toodles!

Wazzup??
Hah! I fell sick yesterday. Grr! I kept vomiting.
And I had a fever after that. GRR!
I think the reason why I fell sick was because I'm tired.
I have been superly-actively hyper for the past few days.
Didn't have enough rest. I keep dancing. Cause of the graduation night party.
And I have to put up a performance. Actually, I don't have to put up the performance.
The whole group has to. Haha!
The people in the group.

Mei Yee (In-Charge/Manager/Choreographer/Extra)
Jaslene (Dancer)
Arnee (Dancer)
Nadia (Dancer)
Yi Hui (Dancer/In-Charge)
Sharon (Dancer)
Laurel (Dancer)

Actually, the person who made up most of the steps was actually me.

So I should be the choreographer. Mei yee only does our arranging.
Hah. But i'm like the main person in the group. Cause i'm doing most of the individual stuff. And the freestyling. If you don't understand then nevermind. Hah.
Anyway, I got some pictures of us lying down and chilling. After practising like mad. Hahah. Or more like playing like mad. GRRR!

Arnee Wartini Amir.
Going to perth tomorrow!

Rockefeller Center

One of the main landmarks in midtown Manhattan is Rockefeller Center with many famous buildings around it. First off we saw Radio City Music Hall on 6th Avenue, also known as Avenue of the Americas:

On the other side of 6th Avenue there are lots of office buildings, all linked underground here to Rockefeller Center and the subway. This shot is of three very similar buildings just opposite Rockefeller Center proper. The middle building is the McGraw-Hill Building.

We walked crosstown towards 5th Avenue and ended up in the heart of Rockefeller Center, where they were just putting in the skating rink for the winter season. In summer the area is used as outdoor seating for the cafes and restaurants that live underneath Rockefeller Center.

They had all the flags of the world there, including Singapore!!!! Yay!!!

Over on 5th Avenue in between the Cole Haan and the Kenneth Cole stores is the famous statue of Atlas bearing the world on his shoulders:

The other side of 5th Avenue has the giant Saks Fifth Avenue department store, and next to it is St. Patrick's Cathedral:

Visiting the Apple Store

We also went to the Apple Store on the corner of 5th Avenue and Central Park South. It's entirely below ground and all you can see is the giant glass cube:

There's a big spiral staircase leading down to a giant area full of Apple gadgets, including the iPhone and many iPods and iMacs and other shit. I played with the iPhone for a while, and even managed to load the blog on it!

It took a while to load though... but at least it worked! It was really busy there though and when we left there was even a long line of people waiting to get in. Aiyoooooh. I can't imagine standing in line just to go into the Apple Store...

NEW YORK NEW YORK!

Hm....last weekend's trip was really overwhelming....I don't even know where to start...or how to blog about it. Hehe...and I have been trying to put it off...but I know my sisters will start complaining soon enough and they'll be bugging me about the pics and such. :p By the way, I have wayyy too many pics...so I won't be uploading them all on the blog...email me or something if you wanna see more pics k?

(View from the hotel room...cantik eh? :) hehe oh...and if Ma hadn't asked...I wouldn't have realised we were on the 45th floor!)

(View of Central Park...hehe and no there was no Joey. No sign of any other 'Friends' either Nene :p This was taken from the room as well.)

Anyway, it was my first time in New York...first time in the US actually...and I was obviously VERY jakun. Hehe....I still can't believe I was there though....it was all so surreal....and I've been watching reruns of Sex and the city on tv rather religiously the past few weeks...(ok so maybe a few months) so that made me even more excited about the whole trip!Hehe...yeah...it was really kinda dumb...but it was as though I kept seeing Carrie everywhere when I was walking around Manhattan and stuff :p

We could also see the Trump hotel from the room. Hehe..yes Nene, the one with the chocolate cake that Oprah raved about. Unfortunately we didn't have the choccy cake. D.D's stayed there a few times I think but I don't think he has had the cake either...right Daniel? :p

(More views from the room)

Kinda behind on this post...

(The girls and Willem)

Yup I'm back...but before I blog about the trip...I figured I should write a little about my last day at BLTC. Hehe...that was actually about two weeks ago....and actually I wouldn't have bothered to write about it...but I really did have fun then....and I made friends with some lovely girls...so I just had to include it here on the blog...:)

(That's me, Elizabeth, Rita, Kate, Elena and Jan)

Anyway there's actually not that much to tell....except that it was our last day with Nancy, Jan and Willem...and we gave them little gifts...and took piccies. Hehe...it was actually really touching...especially when Nancy did her little goodbye speech..she looked like she was about to cry! Oh and I went out with the girls for dinner in the evening. Hehe that was tons fun! :) I'm definitely gonna miss them...but we did promise to try and stay in touch and meet up regularly and stuff. :)

(Us again with Nancy)

Hm....i'm looking at all these pics now...and all of a sudden i'm craving for those yummy cookies Willem got us on his birthday...i think they were some kinda speculaas cookies? Really good though! Hehe...perhaps I should ask him where he got them....

Heelooo!!!!
I'm sooo sorry for not blogging in a LONG time!

Idiotical PSLE just ended! Yesterday! WOOOOOTSSS!

So I'm gonna take some time to blog every day about my life now!

A few days ago, or more like a week ago, I 'celebrated' Mumsy's birthday.

I bought Ma a birthday cake. Not really a birthday cake. Just two slices of Angie the Choice's Durian cake!

Woottsss! So deliciously creamy :D

And I bought her roses too! 3 pink ones and 3 white ones.

They looked really sweet when I put them in the vase.

But now the roses are all wilted. Hee! Waste my money!

And I also ended up eating most of the cake! I couldn't stop myself! They were tooo delicious! :D

And I took a picture of the roses.

I forgot to take a pic of the cake....oops...sorry :D

Nice right? I picked them myselfs ok! :D I'm soo smart! And Kak Saidah, my tuition teacher bought me MUNCHY DONUTS! OMG!!! They're sooooo delicious! Woots! Thank you Kak Saidah! :D

And yesterday, right after school, my friends and I went out! We went to Orchard Road and then Cathay and then after that Vivo City. And I was fasting the whole time! I'm sooo proud of myself! :D Teeheehee. Anyway, we went to Cathay actually cause we wanted to go bowling. But then we found out that the bowling alley there was like...gone! Omg! I was sooo sad! But anyway, we changed in the toilet there then we went out of Cathay. And outside, it was raining! So irritating. So we just walked. Then we came to Ngee Ann City and another place..I forgot what that place was called. The one where there were lots of fishes in the aquarium. Hee. We went to Ngee Ann City to eat lunch at KFC. Actually my friends did. And I just stood there listening to Fathoum's Mp3. Then after that we went into the store thing. Then we like secretly found Dianty a present! And I had to keep her busy while Fathoum, Cheryl and Dorea searched for Dianty the present. We bought her a duck and a bear. So cute! :D

After that, we went to Vivo city and we went to the petshop. After that we went to E-zone. Then I played Time Crisis. And I'm like damn good at that game. Expert. :D Then I was even better than some of the stupid boys there. :D Go Arnee! And after that, we went into Daiso. And Cheryl had already gone home. I bought 3 things from Daiso.

So today, some of my friends are coming over. Gloria, Anchal and Mei yee. We're going bowling later. Except for Mei yee cause she injured her finger. And then they're coming home with me. And we're gonna do bookmarks for the Perth trip. And I'm only fasting half day. :D

So sorry for blogging so much. But I gotta keep my sisters updated you know..Heehee.

And I'll definitely take pictures today and post them! Maybe later I'll blog again. Hee.

It's a pity I didn't take pictures yesterday. Ay! Nevermind...
